Sr Technical Lead (SAP & Actuarial)
 

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Technical Solutions, the Senior Technical Lead is accountable for managing a team responsible for the overall development, health, and maintenance health of the Actuarial application stack within Global Corporate Technology.

This leadership role is instrumental to partnering with the business and technology partners to provide technical solutions for immediate, short term and long-term plans. They are charged with capturing business value by building partnerships with stakeholders within Canada Life and Lifeco, to grow and maintain a constantly evolving view of our capabilities.

 

What you will do:

  • Drives application stability and operational excellence across the Actuarial portfolio in partnership with the Director.
  • Leads intake governance, ensuring prioritization aligns with business value and resource capacity
  • Supports initiative planning and budgeting, contributing to estimates and business cases ensuring alignment with architectural standards.
  • Owns Delivery across actuarial portfolio for approved initiatives
  • Coordinates critical reporting cycles (quarter-end, year-end), supports staffing and execution.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of technology roadmaps and maintains a cohesive, secure application ecosystem.
  • Provides hands-on technical leadership, mentoring teams and driving high performance.
  • Manage
  • Demonstrate leadership by managing global technical teams, fostering growth through coaching and conflict resolution, be an ambassador for change and lead through example.

 

What you will bring

  • 3- 5 years of managing technical teams in an integration focused environment.
  • 8-10 years of experience in enterprise IT, with a strong focus on SAP technologies and cloud-based platforms. 
  • 5+ years of work experience with working on actuarial product stacks.
  • 5+ years of proven experience delivering complex technical solutions in a corporate environment, preferably in Finance, Insurance, or related domains. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and foster collaboration across diverse teams. 
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering principles. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare communications and interact effectively with all levels, technical and non-technical within the organization.
  • Preference and experience working in an environment that is complex, rapidly evolving, and ambiguous with high expectations for excellence and achievement.

The base salary for this position is between  $84,900.00 - $141,400.00 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
